Vice President Kamala Harris will close out the fourth and final night of the Democratic convention with a primetime address. The Democratic presidential nominee plans to promise to be a president for “all Americans,” according to excerpts of her speech. The previous night her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, introduced himself to the nation.
Here’s what else to know:
Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren poked fun at Republican Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance. “I wouldn’t trust them to move my couch,” Warren said of former President Donald Trump and his running mate, a line that drew one of the biggest crowd roars of the night so far. Trump responded on social media.
Tonight’s convention lineup includes Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, as well as Govs. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan and Roy Cooper of North Carolina. Actor Kerry Washington hosts and country-music group The Chicks sang the national anthem. TMZ has reported that Beyoncé will also perform.
Pressure is building on Democrats to allow a Palestinian American speaker to address the convention. Some Democratic lawmakers, Israeli hostage families and unions have urged the DNC to allot a speaking slot to a Palestinian voice.
Democrats again blasted the conservative Project 2025. Rep. Jason Crow (D., Colo.), a former paratrooper, emphasized the policy manual’s calls to reduce funding for veteran’s programs and diminish the United States’ role in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
Trump said Thursday he would be “honored” to receive endorsement from Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who plans to hold an event Friday amid speculation he could be ending his independent bid for president. His departure would likely help Trump, polls suggest.
