Your Preschooler this Week😏
Rules keep life better organized and more efficient for all of us. They also let kids know what's acceptable and what's not. You already knew that — but did you know that 4-year-olds adore rules? They love the confidence they get from knowing the ropes. In fact, their respect for rules can sometimes border on the obsessive — kids can be stricter than their parents about making exceptions!

Parent Tip
When my baby was born, my 4-year-old son started wanting to sleep in my room. After much battling, I told him if he'd sleep in his own bed, he could stay up with me for an extra hour after I put the baby down. It's been great for us — we read, color, and just talk about the day.

Redding on Patience
Patience is a different kind of strength. Sometimes it is even mistaken for weakness. But patience is No doormat.
Being patient does Not mean putting up with everything without complaint. Many times we need to 'Speak Out' Patience is the strength that lets us speak,
With courtesy and kindness instead of with sarcasm and abuse, even when we angry. Patience is endurance and restraint motivated by love:
Love for others, love for ourselves and love for God.
A Day Full of Hugs, Happy Valentine's Day
A Day Full of Hugs
Love is Flying to the moon when you see each other
That intricate Rubik's cube that takes light years to unravel
The missing piece that fulfills every puzzle.
Love is bad lo mein and Moana on a Wednesday night.
the feeling you get when you find the perfect series on Netflix.
Love is happiness
tiny puppy kisses
Sister hugs
the brother she misses
Love is flower
You are its seed
What is love if not naïve hearts set ablaze,
the flames of which gradually extinguish to finally expose the remains of what once was;
A make-belief connection.
Love is basically just an attraction you get so humans can repopulate.
Of course you love your parents,
they're the ones who created you, but what do you mean by that?
Do you love them for creating you, only to die?
Love Isn't Real
Love is fairy tale weddings and
happily ever after.
Love is unexplainable,
unexpected
something you can't find
but it somehow finds you
the thing that makes you want to stay,
the smell of fresh daisies and laundry sheets.
Love is... something that 1st graders say "ewwww" to
Love is... something 2nd graders say "hmmmmm" to
Love is... something 3rd graders can't stop talking to each other about
Love is when your dog doesn't bite you
Love is raindrops caring for the plants.
Helping them to grow to great big trees.
Making a loving home for the creatures of the forest.
Dying only to give fertile soil for the plants to come.
Love is patient
Love is scary
Love is learning
Love is confusing
It's the Gathering together
Removing evil forces
Starting discourses
the comfortable silence shared
Love is an idea everyone should be allowed the right of in whichever way they chose,
Love is a game of chess, you'll never win until you make a move.
Love is saying sorry when I hate to be wrong.
Love is when even though you might not want to do it, you do it because you love your parents.
Love is accepting everyone no matter their beliefs. No matter what they look like.
Difficult, but not insurmountable;
Love is a mountain;
A journey not undertaken lightly;
A reward not gained easily.
Love is a song from Kendrick Lamar. That's it.
Love is a day full of hugs.
A safe place to stay, to be

Just Another Day/Another Hand Up
He knew he shouldn't have done it. I could clearly see he knew it was wrong: it was written all over his face. As I sat down to discuss his "wrongdoing" with him, my Son quickly squeezed his eyes shut. There he sat, thinking>with three-year-old logic< that if he couldn't see me, then I must Not be able to see him, and if he was invisible to me, then he could about the conversation and consequences he anticipated.
I'm soooo Glad I could see him in that moment. While I couldn't condone his actions and we needed to talk on them, I really didn't want anything to come between us. I wanted him to look fully into my Face and see how much I love him and it was that very moment where I could see the generation gap between him and his sibling.
I've always wanted to Learn how to play the chello. But I've never found the time to enroll in a class, Or perhaps more accurately, I haven't made the time for it. Sorry if Any offense but I had just always thought that I could probably master the instrument in Heaven lol.
Life is short, and we often feel the pressure to make the most of our time on Earth before it slips away. As my kids contemplated the meaning of life, in they're 'HomeSchool', she offered two recommendations... First were to live in the most meaning way we can. The second was diligent work. Life is full of opportunities, and there is Always more work to be done. We are to take advantage of each and every one of these opportunities and to prioritize work and play in a way that uses our gifting to the advantage of Not only ourself but others.
Whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might.
As I queved up the ticket line toward my destination, ticket in hand, someone tapped my shoulder. I turned and received a warm greeting. "Karen! Do you remember me? It's Joan! My mind flipped through various "Joan's" I'd known, but I couldn't place her. Was she a previous neighbor? A past coworker? Oh dear... I didn't know.
Sensing my struggle, Joann responded, 'Karen, we knew each other in highschool'. A memory rose: Friday night football games, cheering from the stands. Once the concept was clearified, I recognized Joan.

Your Child this February.
The Name Game
You might have spent months picking out just the right name for your child. And now he's mighty proud of it. Young children come to feel very possessive about their name — and the letters that make it up. One of the first words a child tries to spell, in fact, is his own name. This often happens months before he has much interest in spelling other words, and you can help make it happen.
Independence Day
Your child's becoming more self-reliant each day. But sometimes, letting go is a little tough — for both of you:
• See how independent most kids are at this age
• If you volunteer in your child's classroom,will she get clingy again?
• From tooth brushing to feeding: What your child can and cannot do to take care of herself.
Advice Personally- research,
• How to tell if your child has a nighttime sleep disorder
• Ways to care for your child if he gets a concussion
• Does my child have a learning disability?Spot the signs
.
Parent Tip Our son has to "buy" TV time with poker chips he earns with good behavior. He gets one chip for a smooth morning routine, one for a good report from the teacher, one for nice dinner manners. When he cashes them in to watch a show, he's thrilled to have earned it himself! — Heather K.G.M. |

The Four Calls
THE FOUR CALLS
The 'Spirit' came in CHILDHOOD, And pleaded, "Let me in".
But Oh! the door was bolted,
By thoughtlessness and sin.
"I am too young", the child replied, "I will Not yield Today.
There's time enough tomorrow".
The Spirit went away.
Again He came and pleaded,
In YOUTH'S bright happy hour,
He came, but heard no answer,
For lured by Satan's power,
The youth lady dreaming then,
And saying, "Not Today;
Nor till I've tried earth's pleasures".
The Spirit went away.
Again He called in mercy,
In MANHOOD'S vigorous prime, But still He found no welcome,
The merchant had no time.
No time for true repentance,
No time to think or pray.
And so, Repulsed and saddened,
The Spirit went away.
Once more He called and waited.
The man was OLD and ill.
He scarcely heard the whisper;
His heart was cold and still.
"Go! Leave me! When I need Thee,
I'll call for Thee, "he cried.
Then sinking in his pillow,
WITHOUT A HOPE, he died.
